Alan Porter "Tad" Giles

Alan Porter "Tad" Giles passed from this mortal coil on Monday October 28, 2013. He was born in Atlanta on October 4, 1978 at Piedmont Hospital. Tad was 35 years old and a native of Atlanta.

He attended The Heiskell School; St. Martinss in the Field; Wesleyan Academey and graduated from Dunwoody High School. He attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia on the Hope Scholarship.

Tad was also a gifted guitar player, both electric and acoustical; and studied under "well known" professional quitar player Peter Stroud. He played in several bands in Atlanta at many different venues.

Tad was the only child of Alan Richard Giles and Angela Porter Giles. He grew up in the Dunwoody Community of Atlanta and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he leaves behind his Godparents, Susan and William Reeves of Suwannee, Georgia. He moved to Buckhead with his parents in 2005. Tad was a kind, sensitive, loving young man who was generous to a fault. He was our life and our hearts are broken.

"Good Night sweet prince; and the flights of Angels take thee to thy rest."

A private family graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Hank Sterverson of The Christian Family Center; on Saturday November 2, 2013 11:00am at the Lake Church Cemetery in Metter, Georgia. The pallbearers will be cousins of the deceased.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Atlanta Community Food Bank 732 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd. NW Atlanta, Ga. 30318; or the charity of your choice.

Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
