Alberta Harrelson

Alberta Harrelson, 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 5, 1929, to Dwight and Bessie Anderson, and lived in this area all of her life. She was employed at Jet Food store for 18 years, as well as a homemaker who took great joy in caring for her family. As a farmer’s wife she also enjoyed working hard on the family farm. She loved being outside, whether she was gardening, simply watching her cows, or waiting for the hummingbirds to return to her many feeders. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and preceded in death by her parents; husband, LH Harrelson; daughter, Linda Harrelson Swailes; Five brothers, Willie Anderson, George Anderson, Leroy Anderson, Franklin Anderson, and Bobby (Tiny) Anderson and a sister, Elizabeth Anderson Futch.

She is survived by her five children:

Jeannie Kirkland (Jerry) of Brunswick
Duane Harrelson of Reidsville
Denise Harrelson of Reidsville

Grandchildren: Gene Day, Heath Harrelson (Rachael), Mark Durrence (Tammy), Johnny Durrence (Elaine), Justin Kirkland (Brittany) David Kirkland (Angel), Jerry Kirkland Jr.

Thirteen Great Grandchildren, Six Great-Great Grandchildren.

Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Pineview Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Pineview Baptist Church Cemetery.
