Alma Flournoy

Alma Driggers Murray Flournoy,102, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Coastal Manor Nursing Home in Ludowici, Georgia. She was born July 21, 1911, near the village of Donald, Georgia to John Henley Driggers and Della Smiley Driggers, she was the 10th of 13 children. Alma spent most of her life in Long County, Georgia raising her family and taking care of her beautiful yards filled with her beloved roses and camellias with the exception of brief residences in Houston, Texas and Dawson, Georgia during the World War II era. She was predeceased by her parents, 7 brothers, 5 sisters, her first husband, William A. "Jake" Murray of Haywood County, North Carolina, her second husband, John B. Flournoy of Long County, Georgia, 1 grandson, Jason Flournoy and daughter-in-law, Jerri Flournoy.
She is survived by her Children,
Jakie Murray Stelling (Conrad) of Macon, Georgia
John Victor Flournoy, Sr. (Saralyn) of Glennville, Georgia
Richard Ocy Flournoy Sr. of Ludowici, Georgia
Barbara Flournoy Davis (William) of Fairburn, Ohio
James Thomas Flournoy (Kim) of Jesup, Georgia
Sandra Flournoy Ahlbrand (Bruce) of Port Charlotte, Florida
11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Jones Creek Baptist Church in Ludowici, Georgia where Mrs. Alma was a lifelong member with Rev. Dennis Patterson and Rev. Steve Stokes officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Jones Creek Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Vic Flournoy, Rich Flournoy, Matt Flournoy, Tracy Flournoy, Cole Hays, Waylon Simmons and Caleb Flournoy
