Alma Thompson Kicklighter, 102 passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Glenvue Health and Rehab surrounded by her family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born in Glennville September 18, 1914, as one of seven children to Marvin and Gracy Hallman Thompson and lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a homemaker, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the oldest living member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Celton Kicklighter; daughter, Jane K. Cowart; sisters, Donna T. Godwin, Bertie T. Tootle, Lothair Thompson and brothers, H.D. Thompson, Pete Thompson, and Parker Thompson.
She is survived by: Daughter, Betty A. Waters (Lethridge) of Glennville, GA
Son, Jimmy Kicklighter (Kathy) of Bluffton, SC
Son in-law, E.B. Cowart of Glennville, GA
Grandchildren, Kay Dasher (Clinton), Patti Odom (Joe), Ernie Cowart (Tammy), David Kicklighter (Allison), Luke Kicklighter
Great Grandchilren, Clint Dasher (Brandy), Matt Dasher, Sarah Thigpen (Joe), Lainey Odom, Josh Odom, Laura Sims (Justin), Lily Anna Cowart, Clara Jane Cowart, Kelton Kicklighter, Kullen Kicklighter
Great-Great Grandchildren, Madison Dasher, Gabby Dasher, Danny Dasher, Emily Sims, Emory Thigpen, and Bailey Thigpen
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Watermelon Creek Church Cemetery.
