Mrs. Annie Coleman Smith


Metter- Mrs. Annie Coleman Smith, 97, of Metter passed away Monday morning in Augusta at the home of her daughter. She grew up in Cobbtown, but spent her adult life in Metter. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family and church. She volunteered in various capacities through the years. She was a member of Metter First Baptist Church, and of the Naomi Sunday School Class. She enjoyed taking care of her yards, and doing crossword puzzles and word finds. She is preceded in death by her parents Remer and Lettie Warren Coleman, husband Clyde Smith, and son Ronny Smith Lt. Col (Ret) USAF.

She is survived by her daughter Janice (Jearl) Jones of Augusta, daughter in law Patricia Smith of Abilene, Texas; granddaughters Sharon (Steven) Storey of Appling, Susanne (Keith) Fordham of Millen. Also surviving are 2 great-grandchildren Cody and Ashton Storey.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 10:00am, followed by funeral services being conducted at 11:00am at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel, with Rev. Bill Perry officiating.

Burial will follow at the Lake Cemetery in Metter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Naomi Sunday School Class of the Metter First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
