Aubrey Sikes Jr.

Aubrey Eugene Sikes Jr., 74, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center. He was born in Glennville, GA, November 26, 1940 to Aubrey E. Sikes Sr. and Corrine Kirkland, and lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a 1958 graduate of Reidsville High School, a graduate of South Georgia College with an Associate's degree in business and attended the University of Georgia. He was employed with Sikes Telephone Company for many years and owned and operated Sikes Construction Company. He served as Mayor of the City of Glennville from 1974 to 1975, as did his father several years before him. One of his greatest accomplishments while Mayor was getting the Glennville Public Library built. He was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church and a loving, caring, husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey E. Sikes Sr. and mother, Corrine Kirkland Sikes Smith.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Friday, March 20, 2015 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Glennville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.
