Babs Smith Dowdy, 78, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1935 in Glennville to Coy and Etta Wilson Smith. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a 1956 graduate of Glennville High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Colquitt Dowdy.

Best Friend:Sheila Kirby of Glennville
Several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and many close friends also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service to lie in state.
