Barbara Nelson

Barbara Nelson, 62, of Glennville, died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia surrounded by members of her family from complications due to cancer. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and 2 brothers and was survived by 7 sisters, a brother, 2 sons, a daughter in law, and a granddaughter. Barbara wore many hats. She was a wife and mother. She worked at the Glennville Dairy Queen, The Glenvue Nursing Home, Ithica, and briefly at Claxton Poultry during her lifetime. She also served as a personal caregiver for a time. While battling many illnesses over her lifetime, she found the strength to build a life, care for her children, work hard, and serve and love on as many people as she possibly could. Her faith was also an important part of her life. During her life, she supported and attended the Glennville Church of God, Cornerstone Church, Calvary Baptist Church and was currently a part of Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving woman who will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday January 16th, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Restoration Pointe Church of God located at 111 Institute Street in Glennville Ga.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Vidalia Community Hospice 904 Mount Vernon Rd, Vidalia, GA 30474.
