Barnie Baxter

February 13, 1920 — July 29, 2012

Barnie Ralph Baxter, 92 passed away, Sunday July 29, 2012 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro with his daughter and son in �½"law and special family members by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was known affentleldy as "Uncle Barnie" to so many. The lifelong resident of Tattnall County, born on February 13, 1920 to Hurder N. and Lizzie Beasley Baxter and lived in sight of the place he called home all of his life. He met the love of his life Aldeen Dasher and they were married on March 6, 1942 and shared sixty five wonderful years together. He was a farmer and enjoyed fulfilling God's purpose for his life of having "dominion over the earth (Gen. 1:26)." He greatly loved his Lord, his Church (Glennville Free Will Baptist Church), his family, and people in general. He was a Godly man and was given the title of a "Southern Gentleman" in an article in the Sentinel. He was honored by his church in 2001 for 52 years if service as a deacon. He was also a World War II Veteran serving his country in the Merchant Marines. He is preceded in death by his wife Aldeen Dasher Baxter.

He is survived by, Daughter, Brenda Patrick and husband, Dann of Goldsboro, North Carolina, 2 Grandsons: Lange Patrick (Jamie) of Lousiville, Kentucky, and Lee Patrick (Julie) of Florence, South Carolina, and six Great Grandchildren: Justin, Jailyn, Jonathon, Jaclyn, Brandon, and Brad. Special caregiver Lorene Gunter, who gave great attention and affection to Mr. Barnie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm, at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with son-in-law Rev. Dann Patrick officiating along with grandson, Rev. Lee Patrick. Burial will be in Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
