Bernie Dewey Blocker, 82, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his residence in Glennville. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Blocker was a Korean War and Vietnam War Veteran and retired after 20 years military service as an Air Force Tech Sgt. in fire and rescue. He also retired after 20 years with civil service. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and a great cook.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Dewey Blocker and Birdie Lee Todd.

His wife of 41 years: Charlotte Blocker of Glennville, Georgia
Children: Kathryn Rahn (Jud) of Lakeland, Florida
Stepson: Jason Cochran of Gainesville, Georgia
Brother: Donald Blocker of London, England
Sisters: Bobbie Tuten of Hialeah, Florida
Sue Tuten of Ridgeland, South Carolina
Grandchildren: Cadon & Claire Rahn
Nephews & Niece: Danny Blocker, Randy Blocker, Sandra Moore and several other nieces
and nephews also survive
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Roger Nelson officiating. There will be Full Military Honors.
