Betty Davis

Betty Strickland Davis, 84, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. She lived in this area all of her life. She was a 1946 graduate of Glennville High School and a graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish. She was a school teacher for 37 years at Glennville, Reidsville, and Long County High Schools and has many former adoring students. She is a member of the Tattnall County Retired Teachers Association and Glennville First Baptist Church. She was a 1988 charter member of the Savannah Shag Club where she enjoyed dancing with her longtime friend, Calvin Usher. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucile and William Strickland, Jr.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
