Billy Brannen

Billy Joe Brannen,77, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia. He was born in Glennville, Georgia, July 5, 1935, the youngest child of Wallace Coleman Brannen and Lillie Swindell Brannen. The Tattnall County native had lived most of his life in Glennville. He was a retired Fireman from Fort Stewart, Georgia and a member of the First Christian Church in Glennville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, H.C. Brannen, Percy Brannen, W.E. Brannen; sisters, Betty Baxter and Marion Collins.

He is survived by his Wife of 58 years, Danette Strickland Brannen; Daughter, Deborah Durrence and husband Rob Durrence of Glennville; Son, Lang Brannen and wife Tammy Brannen of Rincon; Three Grandchildren, Paul Durham, Katherine Durham, and Lillie Brannen; One Great-Grandchild, Will Durham.
