Billy Brown

September 30, 1947 — June 22, 2017

Billy O. Brown 69, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 30, 1947 in Glennville to F.O. And Eva Mae Trye Brown and lived here all of his life. He was a 1966 graduate of Glennville High School a U.S Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of Georgia National Guard. He was employed several years with MATES at Ft. Stewart, started with the Georgia Department of Corrections as a CO1 working his way up the ladder and retired as Warden at Montgomery State Prison in 2010. He enjoyed being with his family and friends fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and being outdoors. He was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 929 and a member of Little Rock Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny Brown, Sisters, Annie Merle Brown and Louise Davis and son in law, Murray Odum.
He is survived by, Wife, Delane B, Brown of Glennville, GA
Children, Jerry (Karen) Bamberg of Jesup, GA
Terry Bamberg and Leeann Rowland of Reidsville, GA
Teresa Odum of Ludowici, GA
Sisters, Bertha Sapp of Glennville, GA
Reba Van Meter of Claxton, GA
Brother, Raymond (Betty) Brown of Lexington, SC
Eight Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at1:30 PM, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Shon Cunningham officiating.. Burial will be in Little Rock Church Cemetery.
