Bobby Bell

July 20, 1938 — May 18, 2012

Metter Bobby Short Bell, 73, died Friday at Candler County Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Toombs County to Charlie Homer and Faye Short Bell, he lived most of his life in Candler County. Bobby spent many years in the trucking industry and was co-owner of Bells Dairy Farm. A member of Metter Freewill Baptist Church, he was a "people person" who enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors, wife, Minnielu Morgan Bell, daughter, Angie Bell, brother Homer Bell, sisters, Betty Driggers, all of Metter, Joyce (John) Rooks of Augusta.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, 2:00 PM at Metter Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse Goodman officiating. Eulogy given by Lori McGowan. Burial will be in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral service. Visitation will be Sunday evening 5-8 PM also at the church.

Pallbearers will be James Brown, Danny Carver, David Coursey, Danny Durden, Tommy Findley, Ronnie Flynt, Randy Hendrix, Ricky Patrick, Jimmy Ray Mercer and Chris Tiller. Honorary pallbearers will be Law Enforcement Officers.

The family will gather for meals Saturday and Sunday at the Pointer Plantation Club House, 3231 Camm Rd., Metter, GA 30439.
