Brett Alvah Kennedy, 72, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 1, 2024, under the care of Community Hospice. 

He was born in Reidsville, Georgia on October 5, 1952, to JC Kennedy Jr. and Dana Williams Kennedy and lived here all of his life. 

He was a well-respected individual who dedicated 28 years of his life to serving as a Ranger with the Georgia Forestry, where his deep love for nature and the outdoors found an expression that positively impacted many lives.

A 1970 graduate of Reidsville High School, Brett carried the values instilled in him during his formative years throughout his life. He embraced the beauty of the natural world and was often found indulging in his favorite pastimes, which included hunting, fishing, and racing motorcycles.

Brett was more than just a career person; he was an avid outdoorsman and a dedicated cattleman, balancing a life of hard work with his love for adventure. Whether navigating the woods, caring for his cattle, or enjoying the thrill of a race, Brett lived life to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sylvia Smith Kennedy.

Children, Jessica Prince (Jason) of Reidsville, Georgia
Rader Kennedy (Crystal) of Reidsville, Georgia
Katie Clarkson (Zack) of Statesboro, Georgia

Grandchildren, Evan and Ella Prince, Regan and Chase Kennedy, Lex, Liza and Luca Clarkson

Sister, Dana Robinette Kennedy

Sister-in-law, Marsha Clark

Nephew, Jay Beecher (Becca)

Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Reidsville City Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to: Community Hospice, 904 Mt Vernon Rd, Vidalia, GA 30474.
