Bytha Kicklighter Durrence, 76, passed away on October 14, 2024, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro, Georgia. She was born on January 10, 1948, in Panacea, Florida.
Throughout her career, Bytha was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Glenvue Nursing Home, where she provided care and comfort to many during their time of need for many years. Her kindness extended beyond nursing, as she also served as a cafeteria worker for the Tattnall County Board of Education, impacting young minds and hearts with her warm smile and generous nature. She was not only a dedicated professional but also a devoted homemaker who cherished her family and home.
Bytha was passionate about various hobbies that enriched her life. She spent countless hours crocheting, quilting and painting, expressing her artistic creativity through crafting. Her love for nature was evident in her gardening and appreciation for flowers, which brightened her home and the lives of those around her. Bytha also enjoyed spending time at the coast, shopping, and antiquing, often sharing these joyful experiences with her loved ones.
Bytha was a member of Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church but currently attended Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Kicklighter and Essie Mae Funderburk Kicklighter and a sister, Joan Kicklighter.

Nine step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
