Carolyn Ray Moore, 81, passed away at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville, Georgia on Monday, February 26, 2024. She was born on May 27, 1942, in Glennville, Georgia, to Eldred George "Slim" and Myrtle Baker Ray. She graduated from Glennville High School in 1960. During her time there, she not only shone academically but also showcased her talents on the basketball court and excelled in Home Economics.

Throughout her life, Carolyn dedicated an impressive 50 years to a successful banking career. She embarked on this journey at C&S Bank in Savannah, Georgia, in 1960 and later retired from the Glennville Bank. Even after retiring, Carolyn's passion for banking led her back to the Glennville Bank, where she worked part-time for an additional 14 years.

Carolyn was known for her stylish southern charm and warm personality. Her hobbies included working in her yards, sewing, crocheting, spending quality time with her grandchildren, traveling to new places, indulging in retail therapy while shopping, and showcasing her cooking skills on many occasions.

One of Carolyn's proudest accomplishments was being an active member of Northside Baptist Church. She shared her beautiful voice as a member of the church choir and took part in various church activities wholeheartedly.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janet French.

She is survived by: 

Husband of 60 years, Tommy Moore of Glennville, Georgia

Son, Brian Moore of Hampton, South Carolina

Brother, Jewette Ray (Carolyn) of Vidalia, Georgia

Brother-in-law, Ted French of Summerville, South Carolina

Grandchildren, Ragan Moore, Morgan Moore and Ray Soto

Special Friends, John and Brenda Durrence of Glennville, Georgia

Great Granddaughter, Alena Soto, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Watermelon Baptist Church Cemetery.
