Carolyn Grace Shoemaker, 90, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Glenvue Health & Rehab. She was born on January 5, 1934, in the charming town of Glennville, Georgia to Walker and Mollie Durrence Weathers and lived here most of her life.
Carolyn was a dedicated individual who spent 25 years employed with Tattnall County School Systems at Glennville High School in the lunchroom. She touched the lives of countless students and coworkers, making her an integral part of the school community.
Outside of her career, Carolyn embraced numerous interests and hobbies. She delighted in cooking delectable meals for her family and friends. Working outside gave her a sense of tranquility and allowed her to appreciate the beauty of nature. The simple pleasure of picking up pecans in her yard filled her with contentment.
Additionally, Carolyn possessed a talent for crocheting. This skill allowed her to create beautiful pieces that she shared with each member of her family.
Carolyn was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church. Within the church community, she wore many hats: singing in the choir, teaching training union, serving of the benevolence committee and attending trips with the Keenagers that she thoroughly enjoyed.
She is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Carl Shoemaker, sister, Martha Kate Waters, brother, Larry Weathers and sons, Randy Shoemaker and Ronnie Shoemaker.
She is survived by:
Son, John Shoemaker of Glennville, Georgia
Grandchildren, Randall Shoemaker (Chloe), Mollie Denise Bailey (Kenneth)
Great Grandchildren, Hudson Shoemaker and Peyton Bailey
Niece, Nora Cohen (Norman) of Glennville, Georgia
Nephews, Robbie Weathers and Scott Weathers of Jacksonville, Florida
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
