Mr. Cecil Johnson

Metter- Mr. Cecil Johnson 93, of Metter died early Monday morning at Candler County Hospital. He came to the Metter area 31 years ago from Lake Worth Florida. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith and attended the Lake Church. He retired from Arnold Construction, where he was a Superintendant building schools and high rise buildings. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. He was the fifth born of ten children; and was predeceased by his wife Katherine Johnson, daughter Barbara Jean Johnson; parents Alexander H.S. Johnson and Mary Ann Lane Johnson; and eight sisters.

He is survived by the following: grandson Kenneth (Yvonne) Chastin, of Temple, Texas; great grandsons Josh and Jake Chastin of Temple, Texas; brother Leonard (Louise) Johnson of Savannah.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday October 16, 2013 11:00am, at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Blake Hicks officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Garfield.

Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel is charge of the arrangements.
