Charles Durrence

Charles E. Durrence, 72 passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born in Glennville, September 1, 1941 to C.H "Mutt" and Midge Wilson Durrence and lived here most of his life. He was a 1959 Graduate of Glennville High School and a 1967 Graduate of Savannah Vocational Technical School. He owned and operated Durrence Refrigeration and was co-owner of South Georgia Ice Company. He was an avid outdoorsman loved to fish at Shellmans Bluff, and raise and care for his horses. He loved being with his family and was a caring, husband, father and grandfather. He loved being with friends telling old stories about life memories and was a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shava Jean Durrence of Glennville

Children, Tracie (Robin) Stewart of Glennville
Devin Durrence of Glennville
Sisters, Carolyn (Dicky) Dixon of Glennville
Suzzanne (Lou) Coons of Fairfax Virginia
Four Grandchildren, Ryne and Tyler Stewart, Madison and Morgan Durrence, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, March 10, 2014 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder W.H. Durrence, Elder Jim Bowen and Denver Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 1:00pm, to lie in state.
