Charles "Jack" Jones, 76, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. He was born in Shelby, North Carolina, August 4, 1941 to Flay E. and Leona Beaver Jones. He retired from the U.S. Army at FT. Stewart, Georgia after 20 years of service living in Glennville since 1981. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving three tours where he received numerous awards to include, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm and many others. He was a retired merchant who owned several businesses in Glennville. He was known as a caring person who would help anyone a loving, caring father, grandfather and brother. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Brenda Jones Clanton, brothers, Bobby E. Jones and J.H. Jones.

Eight Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
