Charles A. Simmons, 62, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at his residence. He had lived in this area most of his life. He was employed with Duramatic Products Manufacturing Company for 40 years and several years with Bass Pro Shop in Savannah. He was the Assistant Fire Chief of the Glennville Volunteer Fire Department, a Shriner, a Mason, and a member of the Philadelphia Lodge #73. He was a softball coach and umpire for many years with Tattnall County School System, Recreation Department and Pinewood Christian Academy. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of the Glennville Free Will Baptist Church and was preceded in death by, his Father, Adriel Simmons and Step-Father, Gerald T. Waters.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Glennville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Glennville Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites and Firefighter Honors. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the Church.
