Christine Durrence

Christine Rogers Durrence 91, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at The Annie C. Bruner House Personal Care Home under the loving care of Community Hospice. She was one of seven children born to the late Aden and Lennie Easterling Rogers of Glennville. Her marriage to Alvo V. Durrence in 1946 lasted for 46 years until his death in 1992. She worked many years as a beautician before retiring in 1981, and spent many hours of pleasure using her skills as an accomplished seamstress. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Bible Church, and enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the Joy Ministry Ladies' Circle.
She is survived by:
Son, Gregory J. (Brenda) Durrence of Sylvania, daughter Paulette D. (Bernie) Weaver of Glennville, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Sister Carolyn R. Sands, brother G. W. (Marvelle) Thompson all of Glennville, a sister-in-law Gladys Durrence of Charleston, SC several nieces and nephews, and two special friends and caretakers Rae Malagiero and Odessa Powell.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm, Saturday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glennville City Cemetery.
