Christine Odom

Christine Salter Odom, 89, passed away Tuesday, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She was born November 14, 1929 to Dewey and Theda Woods Salter and grew up in Savannah. She lived in Glennville all of her married life.  Christine was retired from the Tattnall County School System as a bus driver and assistant at the Library.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Christine was an active member of Birdford Baptist Church for 73 years and is preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Odom.

She is survived by, her children, Diane Odom Lee (Herman) of Savannah and Dennis Odom (Donna) of Glennville, brother, S.L. Salter of North Carolina, sister-in-law, Barbara Salter of Seattle, Washington, grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Luke Odom, Lyle Odom, Great Grandchildren, Conner Lee, Camden Lee, Kaydence Lee, Natalie Odom, Violet Odom, Linus Odom, Harper Odom, Blair Odom, and Arthur Odom. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Birdford Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, September 6, 2019 at Birdford Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
