Clarence Purvis

Clarence H. Purvis, 97, entered his heavenly home Friday, April 23, 2021 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born April 14, 1924 to Ivy Lee and Lily Dubberly Purvis and lived here all of his life. Clarence was a self employed mechanic working with the Ford dealership and Lloyd Davis for many years. He also owned and operated Purvis Garage for 13 years. Clarence always put others first and loved to help others. He also loved his animals, caring for other’s animals and giving out peppermints and lolly pops to everyone. Clarence was known worldwide for his devotion and love for his wife, Carolyn and took her picture everywhere with him. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Carolyn Purvis.

He is survived by:

Children, Dale Purvis (Vonda) of Manitowoc, Wisconsin
Diane Knight (Brian) of Glennville, Georgia
Donna Burkhalter (Lee) of Glennville, Georgia

Sister, Audrey DeLoach (Paul) of West Monroe, Louisiana

Grandchildren, Blair Roscoe (Phil), Jordan Knight, Jay Knight,
Johnathan Purvis (Amanda), Todd Burkhalter, Charles Burkhalter

Great Grandchildren, Jayden Knight, Harper Roscoe, Harlow Roscoe,
Hudson Knight

Several other relatives also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Monday, April 26, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
