Dane A. Glisson, 55, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina. He was born in Reidsville, Georgia January 27, 1961 to Aaron and Dianne McCall Glisson. He lived in this area most of his life and was a 1979 Reidsville High School graduate. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree and from Tabernacle Bible College with a Degree in Theology. He went on to become a missionary in Uganda, Africa and served as pastor and assistant pastor to churches in Hinesville and Lyons, Georgia for many years. Dane chose to live his life for an eternal purpose. He valued people above personal gain and spent his life giving of himself. As a father, teacher, pastor, and grandfather he lived out his faith with his whole heart. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dianne McCall Glisson.
His generous heart and faithful spirit will endure in the lives of his Wife, Kathy Glisson of Glennville Georgia; Children, Rachel Glisson of Jacksonville, Florida, Sarah Glisson, David Austin Glisson, and Leah Roderick (Josh) all of Glennville, Georgia; Father, Aaron Glisson (Gloria) of Reidsville; Brother, Derek Glisson of Columbus; Grandsons, Silas Roderick and Kohen Klymshyn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Miller and Lee Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
