Derrell L. Bland, 78 passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Candler Hospital in Savannah. He was born October 20, 1932 in Liberty County to Leon and Claudine Bacon Bland and lived in Glennville most of his life. He was a Korean War Veteran and a home builder. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing, hunting marsh hens, cooking and spending time at the coast with his family and friends. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Claudine Bland, brothers in law, Billy Wells and Derrell Sutton.
He is survived by, Wife, Eileen Bland of Glennville Children, Elizabeth and Craig Nobles, Lee and Kelly Bland, Derek and Jennifer Bland all of Glennville

Grandchildren, Heather N. Lowe, Jason Bland, Justin Bland, William (Megan) Nobles, Jenson Bland, Camy Bland. Great Grandchildren, Caitlyn Lowe, Preston Lowe, Rylie Beth Nobles several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Father Tom Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Glennville Memorial Gardens with military honors.
