Donna Kennedy Wood

Donna Kennedy Wood, 74, ran to Jesus and Gene on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Sharpsburg, Georgia. She was born on March 5, 1950, in Reidsville, Georgia, to Robert Carl Kennedy and Eula Mae Bell Kennedy. Donna was a devoted stay-at-home mother and wife until her children began elementary school. At that point, she began volunteering daily at their school. Years later, when her children finished elementary school, Donna proudly became E.J. Swint’s cafeteria manager until she retired in 2006.

Donna had a servant’s heart and enjoyed cooking for those she loved. She was known for her chocolate delight and sad cake, just to name a few. She was passionate about her family and friends and was lovingly known as "Gramma" to all who knew her, both old and young. She enjoyed traveling, slot machines, and taking care of her most prized possession—her grandchildren. Her loyalty, love, humor, and sassiness will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Eugene "Gene" Wood and siblings: Clifton Kennedy, Bertie Kennedy Jones, Martha Kennedy Purvis, Gene Kennedy, Roger Kennedy, Jimps (Bo) Kennedy, Carolyn Kennedy Taylor, Lula Kennedy Kenney, Winton Kennedy, Dale Kennedy Smiley, Charlie Kennedy, and Lavene Kennedy Bell.

She is survived by:

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Harmony Church. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Harmony Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
