Dorothy Lanier

Twin City - Dorothy Neal Lanier, 86, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She lived most of her life in Candler County and was the oldest member of Baptist Rest Primitive Baptist Church in Twin City. She met her husband of 43 years, the love of her life while working as a nurse at Dr. Roy Lanier's hospital.

Surviving Daughters; Barbara Lanier (Donnie), Rebecca Powell, Shirley Chance (Shelfon), Debbie Singletary (Dwight), Donna Scott (Johnny). Brother; James A. Neal, Sister; Lenez McLendon, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, one son, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 22, 2011 3 p.m. at Rosemary Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lanier will lie in state one hour prior to service. Visitation will be Saturday evening 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Kennedy-Morgan-Brannen Funeral Home.
