Glennville,
Dorothy Jean (Utley) Love “Dor Dor” passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Memorial Health University Health Medical Center in Savannah. She was born, July 30, 1931 to the late William C. and Nicie Utley of Portal, Georgia. Dorothy married J.D. Love and lived in Savannah working until retirement at Union Camp. After retirement in 1980 she moved to Glennville to spend time with family. Never having children she raised several in the community as her own. She was more than a grandmother to many. Her house was the meeting place for all the kids in the neighborhood to gather. Known for her love of baking cakes and cooking she would always offer to feed anyone walking through her door. She was a faithful member of Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years until her health prohibited. Having the last name of “Love” she was a true testament of the meaning. We will all cherish the times we have had with her and were all touched by the love she gave. The heavens shine a little brighter tonight, she is home. Preceded in death by her parents, a brother Bill (Cleo) Utley, husband and infant son.
