Ellen Annette "Ann" Holland
Cobbtown- Ellen Annette "Ann" Holland, 55 of Cobbtown, passed away Sunday morning at Candler County Hospital. She was born in Newberry, South Carolina and came to the Metter/Cobbtown area in 1970. She was of the Baptist faith, and was a devout member of Evergreen Baptist Church who loved her church and church family. She enjoyed special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas with family; and enjoyed gospel and country music. She worked in the health care field for many years having last worked with Bulloch Home Health Care. She is preceded in death by her parents Ollen C. and Ella Rhodes, step-mother Jean Rhodes.
Ann is survived by her husband George Holland of Cobbtown, sons Anthony (Liz) Holland of Alexandria, Va. and Nick Holland of Statesboro, Ga. Also surviving are sister Linda (Bela) Humphreys of Grovetown, Ga. and twin sister Jan (Jerry) Jarriel of Collins, Ga; brothers Don (Eddie Smith) Rhodes of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Larry (Teresa) Rhodes of Charleston, South Carolina. She is also survived by her faithful companion Tot her pet Chihuahua.
Visitation will be Tuesday July 29, 5pm-7pm at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes Metter Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 30, 11:00am at Evergreen Baptist Church with the Rev. John Geerdes officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Al Bland, Larry Dean Collins, Ben Harris, Christopher Mulroney, George McKenzie, and Bobby Tuttle.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Evergreen Baptist Church.
