Ernie M. Thompson, 66, died Tuesday at Evans Memorial Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of his life. He was retired from Continental Telephone Company after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Philadelphia Lodge # 73 in Glennville and a very active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church where he served on many committees which included overseeing the church renovation project. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 27, 2012 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Brannen-Kennedy Chapel with Rev. Vance Riggins officiating. Burial will follow in Glennville Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
