Ethan Patterson, Jr.

Metter-Ethan Allen Patterson, Jr., 78, of Metter died suddenly at his home on Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was the son of the late Ethan Allen, Sr. and Myrtle Bowen Patterson.

He grew up attending the Metter Primitive Baptist Church and graduated with honors from Metter High School. He attended North Georgia Military College and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Business Degree and a Masters in Banking and Finance. After graduation, he served with the United States Air Force as a finance officer. He then served for a number of years as a national bank examiner while living in New Orleans, Louisiana before returning to Candler County in 1970 to pursue a career in personal investments.

He is survived by brothers; Victor Thomas Patterson of Franklin, TN and Bill E. Patterson, Sr. (Parke) of Metter, Great nephews; Billy E. Patterson, Jr. (Sherri) and Bowen M. Patterson, Sr. (Dawn), Great nieces and nephews; Lauren Olivia Patterson, Bowen Miles Patterson, Jr., Blake Lane Patterson, Brent Eugene Patterson and Carli Victoria Patterson all of Metter.

Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the chapel with burial to follow in the Lake cemetery.
