Evelyn Cornelia Sikes

Evelyn Cornelia “Connie” Sikes, 67, passed away on May 11, 2024 at Hospice of South Georgia in Jesup, Georgia after an extended illness. Born on November 3, 1956, in Statesboro, Georgia to Aubrey and Kaythrn Persons Sikes, Connie lived here most of her life.

Connie was a graduate from Oglethorpe Christian Academy in 1975, and was a nurses aid at Tattnall Healthcare.

Beyond her profession, Connie found joy and solace in various hobbies and interests. An ardent fan of "I Love Lucy" and "Andy Griffith," she found comfort in the laughter and charm of these classic shows. She also cherished moments spent with children and exploring the thrill of water skiing. Delightful meals at Altman’s Restaurant brought her immense pleasure, but nothing compared to the warmth of family gatherings alongside her loyal K-9 companion, Sparky.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Aubrey Sikes, Jr., Van Sikes and aunt, Evelyn Cornelia Winn.

She is survived by:
Daughter, Kaycee O’Neal of Glennville, Georgia
Brothers, Harry Sikes (Lisa) of Townsend, Georgia
Al Sikes of Glennville, Georgia
Sister-in-law, Lynn Sikes of Glennville, Georgia
Nieces, Allison Palit and Angelynne Sheffield
Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Monday, May 13, 2024 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
