Frank Tyree

July 31, 1946 — November 25, 2021

Frank Timothy “Tim” Tyree, age 75, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Southern Regency Care Hospice. Tim was born July 31, 1946 in Pineville, Kentucky to Frank M. Tyree and Nancy F. Tyree and was a 1965 graduate of Middlesboro High School where he ran track. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he held multiple positions in air traffic control and in education where he was an Educational Supervisor working with the Armed Forces National Institute of Pathology. Following his retirement in 1990 the family relocated to Glennville from Washington, D.C.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, papa and friend. Tim enjoyed woodworking, being active outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed annual hunting trips back to Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis M. Tyree of Glennville; daughter, Kristen T. Hart (Matt) of Statesboro; granddaughter, Presleigh G. Hart of Statesboro; sister Carole Whiteside (Len) of St. Augustine, FL.  Several other relatives also survive.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his older sister Joan “Happy” Tyree of Atlanta, Georgia.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville, Georgia.  Burial with military honors will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery located just outside of Glennville at a later date.  Following the memorial service friends and family are invited to a reception at the home of Matt and Kristen in Statesboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Care and services are entrusted to Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia.
