Metter - Gail M. Martin, 55, of the Aline community died at home on June 19, 2011 after a short battle with cancer.

Mrs. Martin was a native of Emanuel County, living most of her adult life in Candler County. She graduated from Emanuel County Institute as an honor graduate and later obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse degree from Swainsboro Technical College. She was employed an LPN at the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia, GA for 15 years. She was a member of the Oak Park Church of God. She loved her family, grandchildren, her dogs and cat.

Survivors, husband, David Martin, son Jason Attebery of Metter and fiancé Marsha Hall, step-daughter, Annie Hall, step-son, Austin Hall, daughter Erica Cook, grandson Chanden Allingham of Aline, one step-son Jeremy (Tosha) Martin, grandson Brett of Fitzgerald, GA, step-daughter Aimee (Clayton) Layfield, grandson Blaine of Rochelle, GA, Mother, Shirley M. Beasley of Aline, two brothers, Jerome (Polly) Medlock of Metter, Ronnie Medlock of Aline, step-mother Liz Medlock, half-brother Clayton Medlock. Several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces also survive. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Medlock of Swainsboro, her paternal grandparents, George and Nevada Medlock, maternal grandparents, Sammie and Ida Lou McCullough.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Kennedy-Morgan-Brannen Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Kirkland and Rev. Wilmer Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Aline. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers, Carl Faircloth, Kevin Faircloth, William Wright, Adam Butler, Heath Kingery, Payton Edenfield.
