Gary Lee Young, Sr.

Gary Lee Young, Sr.,75 passed away peacefully at his residence on September 10, 2023. He was born on January 16, 1948, in Youngstown, Ohio to John and Beatrice Cheney Young. Gary proudly served as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army for 10 years and was a self-employed computer programmer, truck driver, and HAM radio operator.

Gary's dedication to serving his country extended beyond his military service. He was an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders, a group that honors fellow veterans and first responders. This involvement showcased his unwavering commitment to showing respect and gratitude to those who have sacrificed for others.

He is survived by his loving wife Rita DeLoach Young and children: Gary Young Jr., Jason Young (Beth), and Nicholas Young, all of Ludowici, Georgia. Gary was also a beloved sibling to Judith Young of Austin, Texas, and Ronald Crom. He is also survived by his grandchildren. Gabby Young, Marlee Young, and Austin Farris and several other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
