Gaynell Anderson

Gaynell Purvis Anderson, 78, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born in Glennville August 9, 1938 to Leighton and Era Kicklighter Purvis and lived here all of her life. She was a retired school teacher who loved and cared for all the children she taught. She was a homemaker and a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mildred Woodrum and Melba Tootle.

She is survived by:
Husband of 60 years: Truman E. Anderson of Glennville, GA
Children: Gayla Kowalchuk (Jim) of Brunswick, GA
Rebecca Anderson (David) of Statesboro, GA
Truman Anderson, Jr. (Kelley) of Sylvania, GA
Sister: Vernette Hatten of Statesboro, GA
Grandchildren: Tray Anderson, Megan Bennett (Morgan), Elliot Anderson (Kaci Callaway),Katelyn Anderson, Maggie Kowalchuk
Step-Grandchildren:Kristin Wallace (David), Melissa Steinka (Travis), Alyson Kowalchuk, John Thomas Kowalchuk
Great-Grandchildren: Brynlee Bennett and Andi Bennett
Seven step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with with Elder Clay Gill and Elder W. H. Durrence officiating. Burial will be in Loves Chapel Church Cemetery.
