Geneva Gibbs

Metter Geneva Ann Sanders Gibbs, 66, died Saturday morning after an extended illness under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native of Elberton, GA moved to the Metter area from Macon in 1979.
Geneva enjoyed gardening, traveling to the mountains and snow. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Cedar Street Baptist Church of Metter.

Survivors, husband of 49 years James Gibbs, daughters; Kim (Norman) Brown, Robin (Joey) Wright, Beth (John) Simmons, Jamie (Butch) Braner, Kellie Miller all of Metter. Sisters; Mary Lee (Billy) Durden of Macon, Myrtle Jonson of Metter, Alice (Chuck) Batey of Stewart, FL. Brother; Leroy (Carolyn) Sanders of Metter, grandchildren; Reid Brown, Chelsea Brown, Josh Brown, Noah Miller, Ella Miller, Sarah Simmons, John Simmons, Emily Braner, Dawson Braner and Avery Wright.

She was predeceased by her parents and one brother Nick Sanders.

Funeral services will be conducted 11am, Monday, February 20 at the Cedar Street Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will held Sunday evening from 3-8 at the funeral home.
