Gennis Folsom

Gennis H. Folsom, 83 passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family under the care of Affinis Hospice. He was born in Glennville, GA on December 19, 1931 to Roy D. and Gertrude Hilton Folsom and lived here all of his life. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired civil service from the fire department at Ft. Stewart. He was a farmer, past President of Tattnall County Farm Bureau and past State Director of the Georgia Farm Bureau. He was a Mason and a member of the Alee Temple, a member and deacon of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his second mother, Louise Lewis Folsom; brothers, James Folsom, Charles Folsom, R. D. Folsom Jr.; and a son, Dennis Steve Folsom.

Children:Fran Folsom, Kelly (Karen) Folsom, Genise Folsom Pedrick (Jerry Combs), and
Jeffrey (Jenny) Folsom
Sisters:Juliette DeLoach, Carolyn Silvers, Bobbie Jean (Earl) Conn
Brother:Mike (Dianne) Folsom
Grandchildren:Amber Folsom Rhodes (Jimmy), Amanda Folsom Gainey (Jason), Tyler Folsom (Jenna), Caleb Folsom, Grayson Folsom, Wesley Bland, Stephanie Howell (Seth), Evan Mark Pedrick, Emily Kate Pedrick, Jordyn Kate Folsom, Jacey Allen Folsom.
Great-Grandchildren:Olivia, Dylan, Lindsay, Madison, Hannah, Amelia, Lauren, Houston, Hunter, Jeremy, Ava, Aden, Andrew.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, Friday, September 26, 2014 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 10:00 am to lie in state.
