George Collins

George David Collins, 56, died Tuesday morning after an extended illness. The native of Tattnall county was a farmer and handyman. He was a member of Cobbtown Baptist Church and loved gospel music. His hobbies included attending Cobbtown softball games, hunting, collecting hats and records.

George was preceded in death by his parents Leavy and Irma Jean Sikes Collins, one sister, Barbara Hackle.

Surviving: brothers; Wayne Collins, R.D. Collins, Michael Collins, Stacey Collins, sisters; Sharon J. Lively, Vicki Gaffney, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Thursday, 11 am at Connor's Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Metter.
