George John Dragneff, 80, passed away, Friday, October 30, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. He was born December 31, 1939 in Port Huron, Michigan to George and Mary Ethel Claver Dragneff and lived in Florida most of his life. George was a U.S. Marine veteran and a retired City of Tampa police officer after 30 years of service. He was a board member of the Peace Officers Association of Florida and a member of the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, George managed a pawn shop in Tampa, Florida for many years and loved to garden. He was preceded in death by, his wife of 56 years, Sharon Dragneff, a sister, Mary Erskine and a grandson, Chris Dubberly.
George is survived by:
Children, Shannon Dubberly (David) of Glennville, Georgia
John Neil Dragneff (Rachael) of Linden, Florida
Michael Sean Dragneff (Erin) of Weeki Wachee, Florida
Brother-in-law, Ranson Erskine of Plant City, Florida
Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines of six feet will be enforced. Masks are not required but are highly recommended.
