Gerald "Jerry" Sapp, 77, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. He was born May 5, 1937 in Glennville to Hazel and Evelyn Kicklighter Sapp and lived in Glennville all of his life. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections after 33 years as Farm Service Director at Rogers State Prison. He was an animal lover, loved to fish at Shellmans Bluff and was of the Baptist Faith. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Doug Sapp.
He is survived by, Wife, Judy Sapp of Glennville
Son, David (Denise) Sapp of Glennville
Sister, Judy Tippins of Hinesville
Granddaughter, Hillary Altman, Step Grandson, Colby Brown, Step Greatgrandson, Ladynn Brown
Niece, Linda Ward, several other relatives also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beards Creek Church Cemetery.
