Harry Wilford Harden, 90, passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. He was born December 3, 1922 in Ocala, Florida to Patrick Henry and Mary Lou Barber Harden. He had lived in Baxley for many years moving to Glennville in 1979 and was a World War II Army Veteran. He retired from Baxley Electric and was a retired Freewill Baptist minister after 57 years of service where is served many churches to include Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Glennville, Bethany Freewill Baptist in Hazlehurst, Corinth Freewill Baptist in Alma, Philadelphia Freewill Baptist in Folkston.. He was a member of VFW Post # 8379 and a member of Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by, Parents, Daughter and Son-in-Law, Annie Ruth & Doc Miller, Grandson, Dewayne Roddenberry.
He is survived by, Wife, Dottie F. Harden of Glennville, Georgia
Son & Daughter-in-Law, Harry Wilford Harden Jr. and Debbie of Waynesboro, Georgia
Daughter, Uvonne Avery of Baxley, Georgia
Brothers, Bill Harden of Brunswick, Georgia
Johnny Harden of Baxley, Georgia
W. H. Harden of Ft. Pierce, Florida
Four Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, Two Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Knight, Rev. Harris Nix, Rev. Robert Owens and Rev. Brad Park officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
