Hazel Helen Schoolcraft Sampson, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro, GA. She was born March 15, 1926 in Frame, West Virginia to George W. Schoolcraft and Tressa Jarrett Schoolcraft living in West Virginia most of her life before moving to Glennville in 2013. She was a graduate of Elkview High School and Capitol City Commercial College. She retired from Appalachian Power Company in 1991 after 34 years of dedicated service. Hazel was a loving caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in St. Albans, WV. and attended Glennville United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard D. Sampson.
She is survived by, Children, Karen Browne and husband, Stanton of Glennville, GA

Niece, Carol Sue Turner, whom she also considered a daughter.

Visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home in St. Albans, WV. Services to follow at 11:00 AM, Saturday at the Chapel of Bartlett Chapman Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, West Virginia
