Helga Helen Aiken, 70, passed away February 8, 2025. She will forever be remembered as a strong, courageous woman who lived life on her own terms, as she did in her passing. 

Helga was born on November 23, 1954, in Furth, Germany. She worked as a draftsman, for various companies including T Square, for many years. Before retiring she was employed with Tattnall County School Systems as a bus monitor. 

One of her greatest accomplishments was earning her Associates of Applied Science in Criminal Justice in 2021 and her Bachelor's of Science in Homeland Security and Crisis Management in 2022 at the age of 68.

Helga was a colorful soul with a great sense of humor who loved her family dearly. There are not enough lines to write down her journey in this life she leaves behind. 

Helga leaves behind, two daughters, Daniela Denise DeLoach (Daniel), Randi Helen Lachance. Her eight grandchildren, Autumn Wise (Brad Davies), Christian Wise, Preston Wise, Rayann Lachance, Austin Lachance, Desiray Lachance, Daniel DeLoach, Jr (Emily Justice), Andrew DeLoach (Makayla DeLoach) and seven great grandchildren, Alana Davies, Soul Davies, Stella Wise, Dekota Woods, Peyton Rogers, Adeline DeLoach, Willa DeLoach. Her sister, Sara, nieces, Eileen, Laura, Jana, nephew Eric, and Aunt, Edith whom all reside in Germany.

Over the years she opened her home to many children that became family including, Aixa Randall, John Randall, Emily Smith, Haley Price, Lea Jarriel, Deisy Gonzales, Issac Brown, Alexis Caldwell.

Helga loved her family and always made sure each of them knew how much. She will be greatly missed and will live in the hearts of her loved ones forever.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, February 14, 2024 at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
