Hilda Waters Swindell, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2023 after a long illness at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia, Georgia. Hilda was born November 23, 1944 to Ossie and Virgina Brannen Waters and was a 1962 graduate of Glennville High School. She resided in Tattnall County most of her life, being a military service member’s spouse took her to Eglin Airforce Base in Florida before returning to Long County for 25 years and then retiring to Glennville. Hilda has many passion filled jobs. She sold Avon, Home Interiors and Blair products. She was also a clerk for her brother at Water’s Meats and ran a daycare for many years but by far her most favorite job was loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ossie “Junior” Waters, sister Louise Collins and great grandson, Wyatt Sims Middleton.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
