Howard "Lark" Sikes

Cobbtown- Howard "Lark" Sikes 86, of Cobbtown died Sunday night at his home. The Tattnall County native was a lifelong resident of Cobbtown. He was a retired Rural Route letter carrier, and farmer. He was a Member and past Deacon of the Cobbtown Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, quail hunting, and going "uptown" to meet and visit with his friends. He is preceded in death by his Wife Betty Jane Haney Sikes, Parents Foy P. and Estelle Sikes, Sister Eva Milhouse, Brothers Eustis "Boog" Sikes, Tyner Sikes, Paul Sikes and B.E. Sikes.

He is survived by the following: Daughter Brenda Wright of Cobbtown, Sister Evelyn "Pretty" Laster of Carrollton, Brothers Rayford "Bully" Sikes of Hagan, Foy "Sharkey" Sikes, and Willard "Mann" Sikes both of Cobbtown, and Chosen Brother Felton Rewis of Savannah. Grand-Daughters Melonie Foskey of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Ahsha Wright and Monica Kemp of Cobbtown. Also surviving are 8 Great-Grandchildren his "Buddies".

Visitation will be held Tuesday June 11, 2013 from 6-8pm at the Cobbtown Chapel of Kennedy-Brannnen Funeral Homes

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am Wednesday June 12, 2013 at the Cobbtown Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Leveritt officiating. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown

Pallbearers: Dwayne Sikes, Don Sikes, Rob Sikes, Rickey Sikes, Dustin Foskey, and Trevor Ellis.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry, Jimmy, and Dale Sikes
