Irmgard Helena Brannen, 94, entered her heavenly home, Friday, December 30, 2022, at Auburn Manor Nursing Home in Chaska, Minnesota. She was born July 31, 1928, to Franc and Helena Butlak Zyber in Oberhausen, Germany. Irmgard grew up in Germany under the Hitler era and experienced hard times that she would often tell you made her tough. She met her husband there while he was serving in the Air Force and later moved to Glennville. Irmgard was retired manager of the PX Exchange on Ft. Stewart and helped her husband operate their 301 Drive-In Restaurant and rolling store. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Glennville and the Amanda DeLoach Sunday School Class. Irmgard was preceded in death by her, parents, husband, William E. “Bill” Brannen, daughter, Denise Purcell and granddaughter Toni Kaiser.
She is survived by:
Daughter, Terri Kaiser of Cologne, Minnesota
Son-in-law, Ronald Purcell of Glennville, Georgia
Grandsons, David Kaiser and Thomas Kaiser
Several other relatives and friends also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 6, 2023 at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
