Iverson M. “Sonny” DeLoach, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. He was born in Long County, Georgia on August 17, 1939 to Ira and Irene Boyd DeLoach and lived in this area most of his life. Sonny was a US Air Force Veteran serving in Korea and being one of the first to raise the first fifty star United States flag to fly in Korea. He was retired Civil Service in telecommunications after 37 years and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Iris DeLoach Varnadoe, Ira Dell DeLoach, Ira Lee DeLoach, Issac Loyal “Tony” DeLoach and Ivis “Meck” DeLoach Lewandowski.

Siblings, Iona “Penny” DeLoach Barnes of Glennville, Georgia

James I. “Duck” DeLoach (Edie) of Glennville, Georgia
Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Friday, February 5, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, at the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Ray officiating. Burial will be in DeLoach Cemetery with military honors.
Social distancing of six feet due to Covid 19 will be enforced and masks are asked to be worn on all services.
Care and services are entrusted to Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia.
